Meet Our Recruiter
About the Role
About the role
We’re supporting a specialist software engineering business to find their next Senior Packaging Consultant, a technically strong, client-facing engineer who thrives on variety, deep problem-solving, and seeing projects through end to end.
You’ll join a close-knit Professional Services team helping enterprise customers modernise and migrate legacy Windows applications into secure, evergreen environments.
This isn’t a pure packaging role, it suits someone who understands the bigger picture: infrastructure, dependencies, systems, and how it all ties together. You’ll work directly with customers, supporting pre-sales conversations, technical demos, and solution proposals alongside hands-on delivery.
What you’ll be doing
-
Plan, package, and migrate legacy Windows applications into modern, cloud or hybrid environments.
-
Support pre-sales activity – technical calls, product demos, and solution scoping.
-
Troubleshoot complex application issues using tools like SysInternals, Wireshark, and API Monitor.
-
Build and document packages (including “reverse packaging” scenarios) with clear, reusable documentation.
-
Work across Windows desktop and server environments (2000–2022), understanding the full application lifecycle.
-
Collaborate closely with senior engineers and architects to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions.
What we’re looking for
-
Strong Windows OS background – both legacy and modern (2000–2022, 10/11).
-
Proven experience in application packaging, migration, or client platform engineering.
-
Scripting ability in PowerShell, Batch, or VBScript.
-
Knowledge of IIS, networking, and security policies.
-
Excellent troubleshooting skills with diagnostic tools and logs.
-
Strong communicator who can engage clients and document clearly.
-
Certifications (Microsoft, Azure, or similar) are a plus.
Why join
You’ll be part of a growing tech business that values curiosity, precision, and ownership. You’ll get to work end-to-end on meaningful projects, within a collaborative team that rewards technical depth and initiative.
The role is hybrid (typically 2 days in London), with flexibility during onboarding.
