About the Role
Senior Onsite Technical Engineer
Financial Services Client | Hybrid Onsite (Central London) | £40,000 - £45,000 + Benefits + Paid Certifications + Oncall Allowance + OT + Career Development
We’re working with a well-established MSP delivering high-touch support into a financial services environment, and they’re looking for a Senior Onsite Technical Engineer to become a key technical presence within a dedicated client team.
This is a hands-on role combining incident ownership, executive support, vulnerability remediation, and project delivery ideal for an engineer who enjoys being trusted on site and taking responsibility for service quality end to end.
What makes this role different?
You won’t be rotating across dozens of accounts.
Instead, you’ll operate as a senior escalation point within a specialist client team, supporting a high expectation user base and contributing to ongoing service improvement, security posture, and technical change initiatives.
It’s a position suited to engineers who like ownership, visibility, and continuity with stakeholders.
What you’ll be doing
- Acting as a senior technical presence on-site (approx. 4 days/week)
- Managing escalations across incidents, service requests, and change activity
- Supporting executive level users in a structured financial environment
- Delivering Azure / Microsoft 365 administration and automation improvements
- Supporting lifecycle activities (starters, leavers, device refresh, upgrades)
- Leading technical elements of client side projects
- Maintaining documentation, asset inventory, and security awareness practices
- Working closely with third party vendors to resolve complex issues
Technology environment
You’ll be working across:
- Microsoft 365 / Defender
- Azure
- Intune / Conditional Access / MFA
- Active Directory
- Windows 10
- Mimecast
- Palo Alto
- Nessus vulnerability scanning
- AV / meeting room technologies
- Financial-sector end-user tooling (desirable)
What we’re looking for
This role suits someone who has built their career within MSP environments supporting professional or regulated clients.
We’re particularly interested in engineers who demonstrate:
- Strong MSP background supporting onsite client environments
- Experience working with senior stakeholders / executive users
- Exposure to vulnerability remediation cycles (Nessus / Defender)
- Ownership of escalations and service queue prioritisation
- Participation in technical change or improvement projects
- Clear documentation discipline
Importantly, we’re looking for engineers who show continuity in their roles, people trusted by clients long enough to make a measurable impact.
Why apply?
- Dedicated client environment (not a reactive multi-account rota role)
- Exposure to financial services infrastructure
- Security-focused engineering responsibility
- Paid certifications and structured development support
- Real ownership of technical delivery
- Long-term progression within a stable MSP engineering function
If this sounds like the kind of role where you can make an impact, apply with your CV or reach out directly for a confidential discussion.
