Senior Projects Engineer / Technical Consultant

Up to £65,000 | Hybrid – 3 days WFH / 2 days London Bridge | MSP | Azure, M365 & Infrastructure Projects

Are you a senior infrastructure engineer who wants to spend more time designing and delivering projects and less time working through a Service Desk queue?

ZenTech Talent is working with an established London Managed Service Provider looking for a Senior Projects Engineer / Technical Consultant to join its senior engineering team.

This is a genuine technical delivery role. Around 55% of your time will be focused on project design and implementation, with a further 35% spent proactively working with customers to improve their technology environments. Only around 10% is allocated to senior Service Desk escalation and mentoring.

The role

You’ll work across a diverse customer base, taking ownership of projects spanning cloud, infrastructure, networking, security and modern workplace technologies.

Rather than simply being handed implementation tasks, you’ll work directly with customer stakeholders to understand their challenges, define technical requirements, design appropriate solutions and lead them through implementation.

Your work will include:

Designing and delivering Azure, Microsoft 365 and hybrid infrastructure projects
Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, Defender, Exchange Online and SharePoint Online
Windows Server and virtualisation across VMware and Hyper-V
Networking including LAN/WAN, VPNs, firewalls, switching and routing
Backup, disaster recovery and business continuity solutions
Modern Workplace and identity projects
Identifying security, resilience and performance improvements across customer environments
Acting as a senior technical advisor to customers
Taking ownership of complex technical escalations where required
Mentoring and supporting junior engineers

The technical breadth expected across Microsoft, infrastructure, networking and hybrid environments is extensive, reflecting the seniority of the position.

What we’re looking for

You’ll already be operating at a senior infrastructure/project engineering level and be comfortable both designing solutions and getting hands-on to implement them.

We’re particularly interested in experience across:

You’ll also need to be comfortable in front of customers. This isn't a heads-down engineering position where somebody else handles the client. You’ll be expected to understand requirements, explain technical recommendations and build trusted relationships with the organisations you support.

Relevant Microsoft, Azure, AWS, VMware, Veeam and ITIL certifications are advantageous.
