About the Role
Cyber Security Analyst | £50,000–£60,000
London (Bank) | Hybrid Working | MSP |
Already working in cyber security and ready for a role where you can make a real impact?
We're working with an established, growing Managed Service Provider, looking for a hands-on Cyber Security Analyst to join and help develop its Security Operations function.
This isn't a role where you'll simply monitor alerts and pass tickets along.
You'll be joining a small security team with the opportunity to influence how the function operates, improve security processes and help shape its future.
And as the team grows, there's genuine scope to progress into a Team Lead or Head of Security position.
What you'll be doing
-
Investigating security alerts and incidents, including escalations from the Service Desk.
-
Working hands-on with Microsoft Defender, identifying threats, investigating risks and driving remediation.
-
Conducting security assessments, reviewing vulnerabilities and developing Risk Treatment Plans.
-
Working alongside technical teams to implement security improvements across client environments.
-
Supporting major security incidents and contributing to incident response procedures.
-
Helping develop the processes, standards and documentation that will shape the growing security function.
-
Participating in client security reviews and providing technical security guidance.
What we're looking for
You must already have practical, hands-on experience working in cyber security.
Ideally, you're a Security Analyst or Junior Security Analyst who has spent time investigating incidents, deploying security controls and supporting more senior security colleagues, and you're now ready for greater responsibility.
You'll need:
-
Strong hands-on Microsoft Defender experience, particularly security investigations, threat detection and remediation.
-
Practical experience with security incidents, vulnerability assessments and risk management.
-
A good technical understanding of Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID and Intune.
-
Experience implementing security controls and working with infrastructure or engineering teams.
-
The confidence to investigate security issues, make recommendations and contribute from day one.
-
Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.
-
Experience with ThreatLocker or an equivalent endpoint security solution, ideally involving application control, allowlisting, zero-trust security or endpoint protection.
-
Previous MSP or financial services experience would also be beneficial.
Why consider this opportunity?
-
£50,000–£60,000 salary, depending on experience.
-
Hybrid working, with the security team typically spending two days in the London office and three working remotely
-
An opportunity to make a visible impact in a security function that's being developed and expanded.
-
The chance to work across technical security, risk management, incident response and security improvement projects.
-
Long-term progression potential, including future security leadership opportunities as the function grows.
Interested?
If you're already working in cyber security, have strong Microsoft Defender experience and want more ownership, influence and room to grow, we'd be keen to hear from you.
Please note: This opportunity requires existing, practical cyber security experience. It isn't intended for candidates looking to make their first move from IT support or infrastructure into security.
