Our Client-Partner operating in the Media Sector is seeking an experienced Azure Data Engineer to join their team!

This is a technical role to join a team working on data engineering . This team is responsible for ensuring that data is securely managed and flows effectively from source to final user.

The successful Data Engineer will work closely with Machine Learning Engineers and understand and operate advanced AI models.

Specific responsibilities for this role include:

 

  • Data flow: Design, build and maintain data pipelines, APIs and protocols as needed to implement and improve strategy.
  • Data Storage: Design, build and maintain best-in-class data storage solutions best suited to the business requirements and all data types, whether structured, unstructured, large or small, rapid access or cold storage, and including meta-data, hierarchies and ontologies.
  • AI at scale: Facilitate maintenance and update of AI models across all shows and locations. Ensure data is fit for purpose as required by AI models.
  • Cloud management: Support the team in managing the cloud infrastructure ensuring data integrity, security and access control while facilitating relevant access.
  • Automating processes: Identify opportunities for automation and implement best-in-class solutions that are both robust and scalable.
  • Scaling-up: Actively support and co-maintain best practices in DataOps and ML Ops starting with micro services.
  • Decision-support tools: Support data analytics leaders in designing, building and maintaining decision-support tools such as dashboards and automated notification solutions.
  • Technology Evolution: Stay up-to-date with latest trends in cloud-based data engineering and development.
  • Relationship Building and influencing: Work closely with other teams in the organisation to identify needs and support overall success of the business.

SKILLS:

  • Expert level experience working with Azure, including ADF, Synapse, Power Automate, Purview and virtual machines.
  • Azure Data Engineer Associate certification.
  • Familiarity with MACH frameworks (Microservices, API-based, Cloud first, Headless)
  • Hands on programming skills, preferably on Python and JS, as well as data formats such as JSON and XML.
  • Experience with deployment of production-level data and software solutions.
  • Specific experience building data relay-type layers, and its associated protocols, to integrate data flows from and to multiple third parties.
  • Interest on and exposure to on Generative AI are beneficial.
  • Desired exposure to modern metadata management, ontologies and knowledge graphs.
